Munakata-taisha Shrine, whose name is preserved in the Kojiki (The Records of Ancient Matters). The god of worship is the three goddess of Amaterasu Omikami, enshrined at Okitsu-miya, Nakatsunomiya, and Hetsunomiya, respectively, and this Sannomiya is collectively called Munakata Taisha.

In the old days, it is deeply worshiped from all over the country as a god of traffic safety mainly on land and nowadays. Please visit us at the time of your visit.

Okitsunomiya Yohaisho

Okitsumiya Yohaisho on Oshima is a component of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage "Kamijukurushima" Munakata and Okinoshima and related heritage groups. From the building, you can see Okinoshima, the "Kamijukurushima" across the sea, and it plays a role as a worship hall that worships Okinoshima as a sacred body. In addition, since Okinoshima is forbidden for women, women have long prayed from this place of worship to Okitsu Shrine. It is a valuable spot that symbolizes the way of faith in Okinoshima. On a clear day, you can clearly see the island shadow of Okinoshima.
